Gordon is a U.S.A. (California and Hawaii) licensed Physiotherapist and a FGNA Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner. He received his BSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996 and later became a Feldenkrais Practitioner via a four year training at the Feldenkrais Resources Training Institute in Berkeley, California.
In his youth, Gordon was a competitive swimmer and soccer player. This experience together with his early exposure to Physiotherapy in the Singapore military inspired him to become a Physiotherapist.
His career spans over 20 years. He has practiced in a myriad of settings and attended to a wide range of patients, from collegiate athletes, professional artists (actors and musicians), to infants and seniors. Through his experience, he has found that applying a holistic approach produces the best outcome in patients. He goes beyond treating the patient’s symptoms and looks for the root cause of the patient’s problem.
Gordon’s professional interests lie in the area of Chronic Pain. In general, chronic pain is not well understood, and patients who suffer from chronic pain are often underserved. Currently, he has found success with these patients using The Feldenkrais Method which focuses on providing an environment where the process of Self Awareness and Neuroplasticity can assist with their recovery.
Beyond his training in physiotherapy and Feldenkrais, Gordon draws from his experience with Muyoshingetsu Kyudo, a form of traditional Japanese Archery, and MovNat (Natural Movement Fitness). The mindfulness aspects of both disciplines plays an integral part of Gordon’s work as a holistic Physiotherapist.
Outside of work, Gordon likes to participate in outdoor activities like MovNat and Permaculture Farming. These activities engage his mind, body and the natural environment which he believes is vital for his health and sense of wellbeing.
