JILL BURNS- PHYSIOTHERAPIST

 

Jill’s interest in health and decision to pursue a career in physiotherapy started at an early age. She grew up in Ireland, where she was often outdoors playing sports such as hockey, tennis, basketball and riding horses.

Jill graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Trinity College Dublin. Upon graduation, Trinity employed her as an Early Stage Researcher on an EU funded Marie Curie project. She was seconded to Wiesbaden, Germany to work on this project. The project investigated children’s use of furniture in schools. Jill’s role was to explore sitting behaviours (sedentary behaviours).

After the project was completed, Jill returned to Dublin and completed a Masters by Research. Her work looked at sedentary behaviours of the office environment.
Since completing her MSc (Research), Jill free-lanced in a private practice in Dublin before moving to Singapore.

An avid yogini, Jill is qualified to teach both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. She is also trained as a STOTT pilates instructor. Her interest in yoga and philosophy lead her to train in BodyTalk. BodyTalk is a healthcare system that addresses the person as a whole – on physical, mental, emotional and environmental levels. It seeks the underlying causes of illness and injury in the body.
