Causes & Symptoms of Shoulder Pain

Shoulder blade pain is commonly caused by something minor, such as muscle strain. But it is important to know that it can be a sign of something more serious, such as heart attack or lung cancer.

Problems in the shoulder blade can range from tendonitis and neck sprain to fractures, dislocation, bone infections, referral from a different area of the body, such as the neck, gallbladder, lungs or heart.

Pain can be felt in different locations of the shoulder at the front, back, left shoulder blade pain, right shoulder blade pain, it can be felt into the shoulder blade or up in the neck.
