Release tension, relieve pain, and improve your overall well-being with regular massages. Massage therapy is not just a pampering session, but it goes a long way in restoring your body’s optimal function.
While there are several types of massage, therapists generally use their fingers, hands, elbows, forearms and even feet to press, rub, knead and manipulate muscles and other soft tissues of the body. The pressure applied to muscles can vary and it is important to communicate with your therapist what feels the most comfortable and manageable.
During a massage, one can be in a prone, supine or side-lying position. Depending on your preference of style of massage, your therapist will then use the different techniques to work out your muscle tension. Ideally, having a massage every 4-6 weeks helps to maintain good muscle tone and helps to work out your kinks before they build up too much. However, frequency also depends on every individual’s lifestyle, time, and budget.
