Han Yen is a dedicated musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 13 years of professional experience. Specialising in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, she excels in both conservative and post-operative rehabilitation for spinal conditions as well as upper and lower limb disorders.
Han Yen previously served as Principal Physiotherapist at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where she led the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team and was a pioneer graduate of SGH’s Residency in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She holds a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Curtin University, awarded through the prestigious MOHH Healthcare Scholarship. Her clinical excellence has been recognised with multiple accolades, including the Singapore Health Quality Service Award, the Service with a Heart Award, and the Allied Health Division Service Excellence Award.
Her clinical interests span both spinal and peripheral joint care. She has advanced training as an ISST International Schroth 3D Scoliosis Therapist and is experienced in managing complex spinal conditions across all age groups. At the same time, she is highly skilled in treating joint injuries and conditions affecting the upper and lower limbs.
Han Yen also has a special interest in sports rehabilitation. She enjoys helping both recreational and elite athletes recover from injury and return to peak performance. Her clinical toolkit includes certifications in APA Sports Physiotherapy Level 1, Dry Needling, Kinesiology Taping, and running rehabilitation, enabling her to offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to care.
Beyond clinical practice, Han Yen is passionate about education and mentoring. During her time at SGH, she contributed to the Postgraduate Allied Health Institute as a clinical educator and trainer, and mentored physiotherapists across tertiary hospitals, community hospitals, and polyclinics.
Her practice is grounded in the bio-psychosocial model, embracing a holistic, patient-centred philosophy. Han Yen believes in working collaboratively with her patients to achieve meaningful, personalised outcomes.
