Han Yen is a dedicated musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 13 years of professional experience in musculoskeletal and sports rehabilitation. Before joining City Osteopathy and Physiotherapy, she served as a Principal Physiotherapist at Singapore General Hospital (SGH), where she led the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team. Han Yen was also one of the pioneer graduates of SGH’s Residency in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
She holds a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Curtin University, awarded through the prestigious Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH) Healthcare Scholarship. Her clinical excellence has been recognised with multiple accolades, including the Singapore Health Quality Service Award, Service with a Heart Award, and the Allied Health Division Service Excellence Award.
Han Yen brings extensive expertise in managing a wide range of conditions, from musculoskeletal disorders, post-operative rehabilitation, and sports injuries to chronic pain and autoimmune/rheumatological conditions. She has a strong focus on spinal health, with advanced training as an ISST International Schroth 3D Scoliosis Therapist and extensive experience treating conditions such as spinal pain, postural dysfunction, and scoliosis across all age groups.
In addition to her spinal expertise, Han Yen is highly skilled in managing peripheral joint conditions, including those affecting the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. She has a keen interest in sports-related injuries, working closely with recreational and elite athletes to support recovery, performance enhancement, and safe return to sport. Her qualifications include certifications in APA Sports Physiotherapy Level 1, Dry Needling, Kinesiology Taping (RockTape) and running rehabilitation, ensuring a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Beyond clinical care, Han Yen is passionate about education and mentoring. During her time at SGH, she contributed to the Postgraduate Allied Health Institute as a clinical educator and trainer, and mentored physiotherapists across tertiary hospitals, community hospitals, and polyclinics.
Han Yen’s practice is grounded in the bio-psychosocial model, embracing a holistic, patient-centred approach. She believes in working collaboratively with her patients to achieve meaningful, personalised outcomes.
