Yanni graduated from the Singapore Institute of Technology – Trinity College of Dublin with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy.
She is a former professional Wushu athlete who represented Singapore in World Championships from the age of 16, and won medals in both the Southeast Asian Games and Asian Games at 17 and 18 respectively. As an athlete with first-hand experience on the benefits of regular treatment, it naturally led her on the path of being a Physiotherapist.
Having completed a comprehensive hospital experience in post-surgical, neurological, and outpatient musculoskeletal settings, including sports physiotherapy at the Singapore Sports Medical Centre, Yanni moved into the private setting to pursue her passion in providing patient-centered care.
In addition to manual therapy and rehabilitative exercise, Yanni keeps herself up to date with Evidence-based physiotherapy practice (EBPP) to provide optimal outcomes for her patients. She is passionate about going through the road to recovery with patients, not only to pain-free stages, but at optimal performance.
Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, Yanni was a student-athlete and freelance Wushu coach for 8 years. She has experience coaching competitive athletes in Wushu academies, and in school co-curricular activities (CCAs) in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. She specializes in teaching young children and coaching elite competitive athletes.
Apart from going to the gym regularly, Yanni enjoys a broad spectrum of sports including badminton, golf, swimming, cycling, football, rollerblading, basketball, wakeboarding – basically any physical activity, she will be up for it.
I have the best experience with Yanni Tan. I injured my wrist and back for 3 months and Yanni was very attentive and taught me a couple of simple yet super effective stretches and exercises that help my injury to recover faster than I thought.
I walked into my very first physiotherapy session in Oct 2021 with a very back pain injury. Just a few sessions later, I walked out pain-free – all thanks to Yanni!
Yanni is a very patient, knowledgeable, and friendly physiotherapist you could ever come across. She provided all the recommended (and simple) exercises that I could do at home to help relieve the pain. They worked!
I would definitely recommend Yanni to anyone that is looking for a physiotherapist in Singapore!
The staff here are all very knowledgeable and professional. I have been seeing Yanni for a shoulder injury. She has helped me eliminate pain and provided me with great exercises that I can incorporate into my weekly gym routine. I highly recommend Yanni if you have any injuries or muscle tightness.
Yan Ni assessed me comprehensively and gave me a detailed explanation of my back pain. This allowed me to have a deeper appreciation of the treatment provided to me. Would highly recommend approaching her for injury recovery and management.
