Maheen graduated from King’s College London with a BSc Honours in Physiotherapy. She moved from London to Singapore to work as a physiotherapist in 2012. Prior to joining City Osteopathy and Physiotherapy, Maheen worked in a rehabilitation hospital providing outpatient services to patients with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Being an active person herself, she always had the passion for treating people with musculoskeletal and sports injuries. To pursue that she went on to working in a private practice in Singapore from 2015 where she gained further knowledge and experience in treating patients with various conditions.
Maheen believes in a holistic approach to treatment and not being short sighted. After a thorough assessment to find the root cause of the issue that one might face, she derives a patient focussed treatment plan that usually combines manual techniques with tailored therapeutic exercises to help treat the problem and prevent recurrence. Maheen promotes independence and self-management in the long run so patients can get back to doing what they love without feeling debilitated.
Maheen is also trained in reformer pilates as well as trigger point dry needling.
In her free time, Maheen loves a good workout and does a combination of high intensity circuit training, yoga, pilates and running. She has also participated in various runs and obstacle course races such as Spartans and Urbanalthalon. Maheen loves travelling and exploring different cultures and connecting with people from all over the world.
