Jan-Mark Smith | Osteopath at City Osteopathy and Physiotherapy

Jan-Mark has over ten years of experience in sports injury rehabilitation and postural adaptations. This includes the Singapore national rock climbing team as well as Singapore and Indonesian Olympic swimmers. He holds a Diploma in Fitness Training and Sports Therapy, is a certified personal trainer, and is a UK National Pool lifeguard.

Jan-Mark decided to study osteopathy after seeking treatment for a neck ailment that had become stiff and painful following a car accident. While traditional medical care did not relieve his pain, four osteopathic treatments restored almost full range of motion in his neck and significantly reduced his pain.

Jan-Mark has a Master’s degree in Osteopathy from the European School of Osteopathy and has worked at a multi-disciplinary practice in Hatfield, UK, where he treated semi-professional golf, football, and tennis players as well as regular gym goers.

Jan-Mark worked in a Cranial Osteopathic practice in Brighton, where he specialized in treating newborn babies, infants, and pregnant or postnatal women. Jan-Mark uses very gentle techniques and his highly trained sense of palpation to identify and correct mechanical dysfunctions with his extensive skills in cranial osteopathy. During his time at the Brighton clinic, he successfully treated babies with cranial techniques for symptoms of colic, reflux, and latching difficulties.
